As you may have noticed, 2020 is different. I’m guessing you know why but the Christmas shoeboxes are still happening, just a bit differently.

The good news is that there are now two ways for you to put a shoebox together if you want to take part.

1) The “almost normal” put things in a box and drop them off to the chapel building in Lavendon, or

2) The “online put a shoebox together” way.

If you want to put a box together yourself, the location for dropping them off will be at the Baptist Chapel, right by the war memorial in the centre of Lavendon. Drop off times will be Sat 31st Oct between 9.30am and 11.00am, or Sat 7th Nov, also between 9.30am and 11.00am. Please remember the social distancing requirements when dropping off your box.

It is also important to go online and print off the barcode and put it inside the box (and make the donation to cover shipping costs, etc.). The link to do all this is https://www.samaritans-purse.org.uk/what-we-do/follow-your-box-donation/ This link will also give you all the info on what can and can’t go in the box – this is vital as some things can’t be shipped across certain borders.

Alternatively, go to https://shoeboxonline.samaritans-purse.org.uk/ where you will be able to build your own shoebox online, choosing the items to go in the shoebox and get everything ready before it is sent on your behalf. No need to find a shoebox or hunt out the items at the shops with this route, and you can also add a personal message and even a photo of yourself if you want.
